After completing law school Attorney Carey joined the Portland
law firm of Chester & Vestal as an Associate Attorney.
In
2006, Attorney Carey left Chester & Vestal to form The Carey
Law Firm, P.A. with his wife, Jennifer A. Carey. The firm specializes
in Juvenile Defense, Criminal Defense and Child Protective matters.

Carey has successfully defended all types of Juvenile and Criminal
cases including, but not limited to, Arson, Robbery, Gross Sexual
Assault, Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs, Burglary,
Domestic Violence Assault, and Operating Under the Influence.

Carey has also done extensive work as a Guardian ad litem
in Child Protective matters.
From October 2010, to June 2012 took a leave of absence from the
law firm to serve as Deputy Executive Director of the Maine
Commission on Indigent Legal Services.

Carey is a Past-President of the Child Protective and Juvenile
Justice Section of the MSBA. Attorney presently services as the
Section's Legislative Liason. Attorney Carey is a former board
member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
